Thank you for partnering with us to improve the ASL interpreting profession in Oregon. As a member of ORID you join our effort and that of the national RID organization to advocate for best practices in interpreting, professional development for practitioners, and for highest standards in the provision of interpreting services for diverse users of languages that are signed or spoken.

ORID Offers FIVE categories of membership: 

Certified Member

Any interpreter or transliterator of American Sign Language and/or English who holds valid certification accepted by the RID, Inc.

Associate Member 

Any individual who is actively engaged in the interpretation of American Sign Language and English and/or the transliteration of English, but who does not hold valid certification accepted by the RID, Inc.

K-12 Member 

Any individual who is actively engaged in the interpretation of American Sign Language and English and/or the transliteration of English, and who is employed primarily in K-12 settings.  

Organizational/Institutional Member

Any organization/institution with an interest in supporting the purposes and activities of ORID.

Student/Supporting Member

Any non-certified individual currently enrolled in a course of study in interpretation of American Sign Language and English and/or the transliteration of English. OR Any non-certified individual with an interest in supporting the purposes and activities of the organization who does not meet eligibility requirements for Sections 2.A, 2.B, or 2.C under Article III Membership.
