This workshop will be a dialogue and exploration of the following topics:

-Settings and consumers appropriate for DIs with real world examples

-Ethical decision making

-Effective teaming strategies


-Meeting the DIs who will serve Oregon

Rupert Dubler

Rupert has worked in the ASL and interpreting field since 2004. He has been interpreting since 2014 and has interpreted over 2,000+ billable hours in addition to pro bono work in all settings including medical, legal, and social services.

**Please note: prior attendance of the Oct 21st workshop "Expanding the Scope and Practice of Oregon Deaf Interpreters" is required. Attendees will then need to fill out the Google form linked below. Only 12 participants will be selected. Once selected, the password will be sent allowing you to register for the Nov 5th workshop.**

This workshop will explore the following topics:

-Grow your skills in Deaf space using American Sign Language

-Explore settings and consumers that are well suited to Deaf-hearing interpreting teams

-Work with both beginning and experienced Deaf and hearing interpreters

-Co-create and experience embarking the process of interpreting together

-Learn effective teaming strategies and techniques when working with Deaf interpreters

To adequately prepare for this workshop, the selected 12 workshop participants must also attend the Oct 21st workshop: "Expanding the Scope and Practice of Oregon Deaf Interpreters."
