This workshop is an open discussion about social media and interpreting. We will discuss the ethical situations that arise for interpreters in relation to the Code of Professional Conduct and their use of social media. We also will discuss the perceptions of the public about interpreting and interpreters based on the way we discuss our work on social media, as well as the potential consequences to our business reputation because of personal social media postings.

Online Registration Only!!

By the end of the workshop participants will be able to identify the various forms of social media, evaluate their social media use in terms of how it relates to the tenants of the CPC, explain how the CPC influences their choices regarding social media, and discuss how social media influences their life both personally and professionally.
Learning will be evaluated based on the discussion participation and content.
